A new concept of cordless charging for Electric Vehciles (EV's)

Electric vehicle charging points are great to see popping up all around the globe, but when it comes to future autonomous vehicles, they're sort of incompatible. After all, who will be there to plug the vehicle into the charger? EZ-linck has developed a concept for a smoother and faster way of charging your electric vehicle, which perhaps could turn out to be a disruptive innovation. EZ-linck beats Tesla with its completely cable-less charging

EZ-linck is looking for partners, investors or potential buyers to bring the current concept to the market.

EZ-linck from Breda (The Netherlands) has developed a new concept where electric vehicles are charged in a completely cable-less way. To test this user-friendly product on a large scale and to launch it onto the market, EZ-linck is looking for serious partners, investors or potential buyers. How does it work?

The driver gently guides the car towards the charging station with the help of a laser beam to ensure the correct position. The connector - located at the front of the car - automatically slides into the seven vertical slots of the charging station in two phases. The connection is made. Charging starts as soon as the identification of the vehicle has taken place (and the bill has been sent). Drive in, plug in, get out and charge - it couldn't be easier.

Alex Heestermans explains: “It is possible to charge an electric vehicle without a cable wherever it is stationary, as long as a charging station is present. Even the great Tesla has not yet succeeded in this.”

Advantages of cable-less charging

This application (and the associated software) means that human intervention is no longer required. Autonomous charging and parking is now within reach. For example, instead of choosing 'valet parking' at the airport, you could now choose 'valet parking AND charging'. This charging method is suitable for any type of car, regardless of height. The concept - which is better protected against vandalism due to the absence of plugs and cables - also uses simple and existing technology. Even a charging card is no longer necessary. The purchase price of the system is around €1,500.

Investors

In order to make this patented invention a success, EZ-linck is looking for serious partners who wish to invest in both the test phase and the launch of the product onto the market. EZ-linck wishes to make clear that it will respond only to serious expressions of interest.

How it works?

↘ Smooth arrival

  1. The vehicle should approach the charging column moving slower than 2 km/h.
  2. Once the vehicle is in close proximity, the charging button is pressed on the console.
  3. The license plate flips up to expose the connector.
  4. The vehicle is equipped with a laser beam to assist the driver in aligning to the charging column.
  5. The vehicle is parked and vacated.
  6. Once the vehicle has been locked, the connector engages with the charging column.
  7. The connection is established and charging commences.

↖ Quick departure

  1. Unlock vehicle to switch off the power and stop charging.
  2. The connector disengages from the charging colomn.
  3. The vehicle reverses and the connector retracts into the bumper.
  4. The license plate returns to the original position.
  5. You are ready to go!

Everybody can feel a bit like James Bond.
